SEND Information Report

The Bridge Education Centre is a Pupil Referral Unit. It is a mainstream provision for students who are at risk of exclusion or who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school. We also cater for Emotionally Vulnerable students who are finding it difficult to access their mainstream school.

We currently have students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Communication and Interaction difficulties and Cognition and Cognition and Learning difficulties. Our students are taught in small class groups which enable individual needs to be catered for and all teachers and support staff are given information about the pupils’ needs via Pupil Support Information sheets which are distributed on the arrival of individual pupils.

Teaching and support staff receive training on SEND to improve their knowledge of SEND. Training varies every year according to the identified training needs of teaching and support staff for example dyslexia, ASD. Learning Support Assistants (LSA ‘s) are deployed across curriculum areas to help pupils with SEND.

For full information on the support The Bridge Education Centre provides for students, please take a look at our SEND Information Report.
